Ok so I’m still a bit tired or loopy from yesterdays appointment. I not in much pain at all unless I try to smile or squinch up my nose. 5 implants put in but I had the old bridge put back on because the new bridge wasn’t ready. I’m hoping by monday or tuesday I’ll have them but in the meantime was informed not to eat anything solid or something hard that I need to tear with my teeth because the bridge will just come out.
Well this appointment was a rather strange one I admit. I took my usual 2 Ativans and laid in the chair but for some reason I couldn’t get used to the gas. That particular day it just seemed to make me feel nauseous. I don’t quite remember how it all played out but I pretty much went through my appointment with just the sedation. Dr. Nirav didn’t want to take any chances with the gas and having me get sick while he was inserting posts. Not a good idea.
So with that, my thoughts and visions were all over the place. I didn’t feel like I was at the dentists. I felt some pain, pinching and pulling but really not enough to freak me out and not go back. I heard voices, I heard the instruments and I heard commands given to me. Some took a bit of coaxing because really, I wasn’t with it enough to understand I guess. LOL! I guess it was a pretty comical situation.
Regardless, I’m up and about today but sleepy and terribly hungry. Can’t eat solids for a while until I get my new bridge. That should be easy enough to get through on my own I hope.
I hurt but Advil takes the pain away. My jaw feels stiff and I’m slightly swollen but that’s about the jist of the outcome. I won’t be taking a picture until I get the new bridge so I’ll be editing this post later with the before and after shots of the two different ones.
As they say…. no pain no gain. I’m happy that this bit is over! Just a few more bits and pieces and I’ll be home free!
