Well, we got there and Dr. Nirav asked me to come into the room before anything was to start. He wasn’t even wearing his light blue doctors coat. Says that he’d need to file down my top back molar as it’ll interfere with my bite with my new bottom bridge. This, he knew, would be a problem because of my gag reflex. Also, some adjustments would need to be made with the bottoms as well. So we had to think about things. I’m not sure but I think he said that this top molar would be removed anyway, but in the mean time just filed down so I can still eat/chew.

Because my appointment was only scheduled for 45 minutes, it wouldn’t give him enough time if I were to take my oral sedation tablets. A must for my top tooth filing. My sedation pills take about 20 minutes to kick in. Plus I had another appointment today at 2:15 and would need to be alert. Not that that would matter, as Lyn would have done the appointment for me (vet appointment for my dog).

So we decided to skip the appointment for this week and next week I’ll be scheduled in for 2.5 hours with sedation. In that appointment he  will do my bottom permanents, file down the back molar, remove my top bridge, insert the second stage of the 6 implants on the top, take impressions and then put my top bridge back on. PHEW!

So while I was so excited to have bottoms put on today, not all is lost, because next week it’ll just be like a double appointment. But what’s cool is I got to see my new permanent bottoms! They look really cool and I can’t wait to see them in my mouth!
