Tomorrow’s the day I go in for my second stage implants on my tops. That will consist of removing the current temporary bridge, slicing a bit of my gums where the first stage implants are. There are 6 total, inserting the posts, then he’ll either take impressions before putting the bridge back on or after. Not sure…. then mould goes to lab for construction of permanents. I’m guessing I won’t be done by Xmas. Probably won’t be done until after the New Year. Sorta disappointed but, hey, I really can’t argue can I?
Anyway, been thinking and analyzing my bottoms and looking at how they are slanted in a downward slope. I also notice that the back 3 teeth on my left don’t match what my right ones look like. I know that he has to match my bite but I think he matched my bite to my current top temporaries.. so does this mean my permanents will look like my temps? He insists, no. I think they will. And to throw in another rant.. those 3 back ones feel out of place. When I eat, it feels like I’m holding a wad of gum between my cheek while I chew or I have a big chunk of food stuck there and I try to remove it with my tongue, only to find that it’s the teeth. Whatever…. still waiting to get used to it.
So suffice it to say, I’m a bit disappointed at the way my bottom ones came out. And it’s not like it’s an easy fix. These are implants….. crowns….. PERMANENT.
I should be pleased. I know I should be. These are a hell of a lot better… actually…. 110% better than what I had. I shouldn’t complain. But I am because it’s a 45k investment and I should be happy, right?
