So the new Cairns Life magazine came out for the month of May. On page 39 there’s an article on Dr. Nirav and in the first paragraph it mentions me anonymously. The article and the picture of Dr. Nirav turned out great! I hope they are pleased! I’m currently waiting to get permission to repost that article on my blog. If you see it below this post, then I got permission.

I have contacted Peta for the interview and have sent her photos of me before and after. I’ve also sent her a timeline of events from childhood until today. She will be in touch with me later down the road for an interview and the publication will be in the Sunday paper as a supplement called “U”.

As for an update with me. I am still holding in with the temporary glue on my tops. So far so good, nothing’s come loose. I go in next Tuesday for the impressions and a fitting but I’m stumped how that’s going to get done. But Dr. Nirav’s the king, not me! He knows what he’s doing. I don’t really ask the questions all that much, Lyn does. So I need to take my sedatives for that day.

Still struggling with words that end in __ts… like “minutes” or “cats”. Seems my mouth doesn’t wanna spit out that sound. Can’t figure out why if it’s the placement of my teeth or the gap I have between teeth and gums. I’ve been putting a strip of dental wax between the gap which helps a bit with plain S sounds but really struggle with the other.

Other than those minor things, I’m loving food now! The things I can order and EAT! Well…. still waiting to eat steak and crunchy stuff like nuts… SOON!!

And… I smile ALL the time now. ALL the TIME! I can feel the confidence in me. I can actually look people in the eye when I talk. I love to make the little kids laugh and smile at them without them being judgemental (or scaring them away). It’s awesome! Simple awesome!
