Last night I was really weary and apprehensive about today. Wondering about sedation and wondering about what was actually going to be done, but this morning I woke up feeling better than last night and convinced myself it would be fairly simple to go without. I still packed up my sedation and sedation accessories and then out the door we went.

When Dr. Nirav entered I asked him what was going to be done and if I needed to take my tablets. He said it was up to me that the only thing he would do would be to file down one of my front implant posts because it may be a little long, that the lab had a bit of a problem with the length. So the most evasive thing would be a shot of novacaine, but it was up to me. If I didn’t take the tablets we’d be in and out in half hour tops. I said without please!

Erin went in first for her appointment. Took her 20 minutes. Then I went in. I was a little nervous but a lot less than I once used to be. Layer back and he took the temp tops off, cleaned up the posts from the old glue, then put my perm tops in. They were cold! I laughed. A few times while Dr. Nirav was in my mouth I could feel a gag coming on and I shut my mouth on his fingers…. Twice! Ohhh I felt horrible but we giggled about it.

He didn’t need to file a post down so he applied temp glue, checked my bite, filed down some bottom teeth to match up my bite a bit and I was done!

I was given the OK to eat steak! YES! And my birthday is in less than two weeks so that will be my birthday dinner. I go back in 2 months time for a check up. I don’t need any more dental wax, my gums should work themselves into place around the bridge and my bite will go back to normal after having the off-bite temps in for 6 weeks.

It feels so great to have my smile back and the feel really good in my mouth so far. Just happy it’s all done and over with now, with just check ups and adjustments down the road. I think I can handle that!

Just need to thank everyone in my life for the support and patience I’ve gotten over the past 20 months. And of course my partner for having to put up with me on a daily basis over it.
