A Year Later

Hey everyone!

It’s been a long time since my last post and I just wanted to fill everyone in on how I’m going with my new choppers. It hasn’t been quite a year with them yet but I’m getting used to them slowly. Still feel like I talk differently and my pronunciation of certain words is a bit tricky but I’m coming around.

My dental appointments are every 3 months so I’ve had 3 checkups. I’m quite comfortable going and don’t have hardly any anxiety when I go. I still get that gag sensation but Dr. Nirav knows me well enough to take care.

So this last appointment I had went well, although the build up still forms on my lowers and I have to be vigilant on my bottoms. My tops are great, my gums have healed nicely around the upper set. My bottoms will probably have to be redone a few years down the road. He’s looking at another possible implant on my lower jaw because of bone deterioration. It doesn’t have me worried. If I can go through what I just went through I can manage this as well.

To top this all off, it has been absolutely amazing at all the foods I can now eat! I’m eating peanuts like crazy! Corn on the cob I can’t get enough of and big fat juicy steaks are heaven!

I hope those of you still searching for some courage to stop looking because you’ll never find it. It’s there all along inside you but what’s blocking you from seeing it is that fear monster! Push him aside and tell him to go away. Find a close friend or relative to confide in because it helps to talk about it and release all those pent up feelings.

Any questions, please contact me. I can be there to listen and give you some encouragement.
